Kyle West

Kyle joined his high school mock trial team in 2003, and he hasn’t been able to kick the habit since. After high school, Kyle competed for three years at the University of Cincinnati, where he captained two teams to the National Championship Tournament and was a two time All-American Attorney. Kyle then attended Harvard Law School and graduated in 2014. These days, you can find him working as a trial attorney with the Department of Justice’s Torts Branch. Like the shameless mock trial junkie that he is, Kyle approached GW Mock Trial about coaching shortly after moving to DC. Fortunately for all of us, we have met his wonderful wife and fellow Harvard Law grad, Kirby who has lovingly been given the nickname, “The Kirb.”

Kyle West owns one of the most picture perfect animals in the world. This is Max West. Max acts as an inspiration for the GW Mock Trial team. Prior to any tournament, Kyle tells the team how many ballots it has to win in order for Max to come to practice. He’s an adorable retriever mix and one of the friendliest dogs you will ever meet…unless there’s a squirrel nearby.
