New Website Layout + 2020 – 2021 Season Recap

Greetings!

For those of you who are new to the GW Mock Trial website, welcome! For those returning, welcome back! We hope you like the new look. A few quick notes on that:

  • The former “History” page has been updated to “Our Record.”
  • The site has been updated for faster loading times and better mobile compatibility!
  • You can now learn more about what Mock Trial is on our “About” page.
  • The “Members” page has been updated to reflect our 2021 – 2022 roster. Head over there now to get to know a few of our members! (Over the summer and heading into the fall, we will continue to provide links to individual members, that you might learn a little bit more about us.)

If any feature of the website is malfunctioning or inaccessible, please let us know by reaching out to the gwtrial@gmail.com email account and we’ll fix it promptly.

Now to the 2020 – 2021 Season Recap:

First and foremost, we apologize for the website’s inactivity during the past year. In the chaos and with all of the other issues to iron out, we, unfortunately, did not have time to update the website as we needed to. Nevertheless, that was then, this is now.

And now, we’re back!

GW Mock Trial sent three teams to Regionals this past season, and we want to give a shoutout to our A, B, and C teams for a fantastic performance at each! Of these two earned bids to the Open Round Championship Series (ORCS)!

GW Mock Trial sent two teams to ORCS, and after a hard-fought Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday, GW Mock Trial earned a bid to the National Championship Tournament (NCT)!

Needless to say, GW Mock Trial sent a team to the NCT, securing ourselves a spot in the highest tier of collegiate Mock Trial competition!

But most importantly, we had a great time doing it!

Over the year, we managed to build strong interpersonal connections despite being socially distant or communicating via Zoom. How did we grow so close with one another? Chiefly by stabbing one another in the back as the Imposter in Among Us, but also by working so diligently and so cooperatively. If we’ve learned one thing as we gear up to head into the 2021 – 2022 In-Person Season, it’s this:

Teams that work together, win together!
